B.S. in Naval Engineering from Universidade de São Paulo (1981), Master's in Ocean Engineering from Yokohama National University (1983), and Doctor of Engineering in Ocean Engineering from the University of Tokyo (1986). Full Professor at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). Served as a member of graduate courses evaluation committee (Engineering III) of the Coordination of Superior Level Staff Improvement (CAPES). Associate Editor of the Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering, the Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering and the Journal of Marine Science and Technology, and he was a member of the advisory editorial board of the Journal Marine Systems Ocean Technology (SOBENA). Country committee member of the International Ship and Structure Congress (ISSC), currently serving as Brazilian representative on the Specialist Committee V.3-Subsea (2023-2025), and past member of the Specialist Committee V.8-Risers and Pipelines and of the Technical Committee I.2: Loads. Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) International, USA, having served as a member and president at the Career Guidance and Student Development Committee-CGSD, DeGolyer Distinguished Service Award Committee and Distinguished Achievement Award for Petroleum Eng. Faculty Committee. Technical sessions organizer at the OMAE/ASME Conference. Deputy advisor of the council of the Brazilian Association of Engineering and Mechanical Sciences (ABCM), and executive secretary of the Technical Committee. Coordinator of research, development, and innovation projects with funding from national and international government agencies and corporate companies. Has experience in Naval and Ocean Engineering with emphasis on Hydrodynamics of Ships and Ocean Systems, working mainly on the following subjects: ocean systems, offshore risers and pipelines, subsea technology, offshore drilling, oil and gas production, floating platform dynamic behavior, ocean waves and sea current.
