Undergraduation in Agronomy from Sao Paulo State University - UNESP (1986), master degree (1991) and Doctorate degree (1997) in Sciences - Entomology by ESALQ / University of São Paulo (USP). He is head of Dept. Plant Protection and he was Dean of School of Agronomic Sciences (FCA/UNESP - Campus of Botucatu in 2017-2021. He is Associate Professor of Forest Entomology at FCA/UNESP - Campus of Botucatu since 2012. Carlos Wilcken was Coordinator of Graduation Program in Plant Protection (2002-2004 and 2007-2010) and is Scientific coordinator of Forest Protection Program (PROTEF) in IPEF (Forest Studies and Researches Institute). He was Vice-Dean of FCA/UNESP iduuring 2013-2017. He is the Vice Director of IPEF since 2016. He has published 163 papers in Scientific journals and 4 books and/or technical publications. He worked as consultant for FSC International Centre in 2009. He advised 27 MSc dissertations and 20 PhD Thesis. He has experience in Agronomy and Forestry, acting on the following subjects: Forest Protection, Plant protection, Eucalyptus, insect forest pest management, biological control of forest pests and invasive pests.
