Prof. Julio López received a PhD in Computer Science from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 2000. He is currently Associate Professor (MS-5.3) at the Institute of Computing at UNICAMP. His main research interests are focused on software implementation of cryptographic algorithms (symmetric and asymmetric), post-quantum cryptography and cryptography applications. In recent years, he has participated in several Cryptographic Engineering projects with national and international companies. Prof. Julio received the award for best paper at the International Conference "Cryptographic Hardware and Embedded Systems" (CHES) in 2013, and in 2015 he received the "Zeferino Vaz" academic excellence award from UNICAMP, for his contributions to research and teaching of Computer Science. He also received the UNICAMP inventors award in 2019. He was the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Computer Science in the period 2015-2017. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
