She has a degree in Portuguese, Chinese (1995) and Japanese (1999) from the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences, a Master's degree in Letters in the area of Japanese Language, Literature and Culture (2001) and a PhD in Linguistics from the University of São Paulo (2009). She completed a post-doctoral internship at Sophia University, Japan (2012). She is a researcher and advisor in the Postgraduate Program in Japanese Language, Literature and Culture at USP. She was vice-director of the Interdepartmental Language Center (2011-2015); president of the Center for Japanese-Brazilian Studies (2020-2023); vice-president of the Brazilian Japanese Language Center (2022-2024); coordinator of the Graduate Program in Japanese Language, Literature and Culture (2017-2020). She is currently supervising and coordinating the Japanese courses at PROIAD (Program for Initiation and Improvement in Language Teaching), aimed at International Mobility at USP. Her research focuses on Applied Linguistics and Japanese-Brazilian Studies, with a focus on migration, the Japanese-Brazilian diaspora, Japanese language studies from the perspective of heritage (HL) and foreign language (FL). She was a consultant in the production of didactic material for Japanese Language and Culture in the EaD modality at Cruzeiro do Sul University. She is a lecturer on continuing training courses for Japanese language teachers, bilingualism, Japanese culture and social and business etiquette. Her projects aim to combine research, teaching and extension, interfacing with society, public education and funding bodies from the Japanese and Brazilian governments. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
