Karina Alves Pinheiro Fontanin

Holds a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie (2012), a master's degree in Chemistry from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2015), and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2023). Has experience in chemistry and molecular biology laboratories, including sequencing, focusing on understanding the genetic processes involved in the production of substances with pharmaceutical potential. Developed skills and expertise in chromatographic techniques for qualitative and quantitative analyses of substances with pharmaceutical potential (HPLC and GC coupled and/or not coupled to mass spectrometry), isolation and purification of organic compounds, and identification of substances using spectroscopic techniques (H and C NMR). Also has experience in Molecular Biology, using gene expression analysis techniques from RNA extraction and real-time PCR to evaluate transcripts expressed in plant organisms, as well as DNA extraction for the detection of pathogenic bacterial infections.
