Angelica Carvalho di Maio

Graduated in Cartographic Engineering from the State University of Rio de Janeiro, master in Remote Sensing from the National Institute for Space Research and PhD in Geography (Spatial Information Analysis) from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho. She is currently an associate professor and Director of the Geosciences Institute at the Fluminense Federal University. She works on research and extension projects in the field of education, especially focusing on geospatial information, alongside teachers and students in primary education. She develops research and extension in the area of Geosciences and Environment, with an emphasis on Cartography, geographic information systems and remote sensing in education. She is Coordinator of the national scientific Olympiad OBRAC-Brazilian Cartography Olympiad. She is a member of the Permanent Commission on Gender Equality at Universidade Federal Fluminense (CPEG).
