Prof. Dr. Marcelo Schneck de Paula Pessôa is an Electronic Engineer, Master, Doctor and Associate Professor at the Polytechnic School of USP - EPUSP. Professor in the Production Engineering Department at EPUSP since 1987.Collaborating Professor at the State University of Campinas - UNICAMP, from 2018-2023.He has worked in the area of operations systems, computing, electronics, telecommunications and automation for over 50 years. He has worked for companies such as Cosipa, Siderbrás, CPqD-Telebrás Research Center and is currently a managing partner at Antares Eletrônica where he developed a PIPE project for innovation in small companies (2012), financed by FAPESP. He was President of the Carlos Alberto Vanzolini Foundation from 2002-2005 and has since been a member of the Foundation's Board of Curators.He was deputy head of the Production Engineering Department in the 2015/2019 management.Since 1995 he has been a member of ABNT's Software Life Cycle Process Study Commission and has participated in the drafting of national and international standards in the area of information technology, having represented Brazil at international ISO meetings.He coordinated courses in Information Technology from 2001 to 2016. From 2020 to 2024 he coordinated the CELOG course Specialization Course in Business Logistics and courses in the area of Business Analysis based on the BABOK model.Developed projects with city halls such as Diadema and Jacareí to improve citizen service processes in order to improve the quality of the services provided by these bodies.He coordinates a research project with CENPES-Petrobrás in the area of well drilling. From 2000 to 2010, he coordinated the eLabSoft group, conducting research into software factories and software processes, the activities of which culminated in his Associtate Professos Thesis.At LETICIC - Laboratory for Strategic Management of Information Technology, Knowledge and Competitive Intelligence, he is coordinating a research project with the Petrobras Research Centre in the area of optimizing well drilling activities in the 2020-2022 period.
