Bachelor and License Degrees in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of São Carlos (1988), Master's Degree in Ecology and Natural Resources from the Federal University of São Carlos (1993) and a Ph.D. in Science from the Federal University of São Carlos (2000). I did a sandwich doctorate at the Center for Biofilm Engineering (CBE, Montana State University, 1997).I am currently a Professor Doutor at the São Carlos Institute of Physics at the University of São Paulo (IFSC-USP).At the Center for Scientific and Cultural Dissemination (CDCC-USP), she was deputy director from March 2019 to December 2021. She is currently Director, since December 2021.My research areas are: 1) Environmental and Industrial Microbiology, with an emphasis on bacteria from oil reservoirs; 2) Science education, with an emphasis on the development and evaluation of teaching resources.
