Working in research for over 25 years, he holds a degree in Biological Sciences, a master's degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of São Paulo, and a PhD in Ecology and Natural Resources from the Federal University of São Carlos. He pioneered the development of Real-Time Water Quality Monitoring Systems (2000) and has extensive experience coordinating teams and managing projects in several river basins throughout Brazil. He is proficient in statistical, geoprocessing, and programming tools (Python, R, GIS, Earth Engine, among others). His main research interests focus on the application of new technologies for environmental monitoring, instrumentation, continental and groundwater, sanitation, geotechnologies, remote sensing, and environmental conservation.
