Cássio Prazeres holds a Ph.D. in Sciences Computer Science and Computational Mathematics from the University of São Paulo (2009). He is an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), working in the areas of Internet/Web, and a permanent advisor in the Graduate Program in Computer Science (PGCOMP-UFBA). Prazeres is a member of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC), the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Services Computing, the IEEE Smart Cities Technical Community, the IEEE Internet of Things Technical Community, and the W3C Web of Things Community Group. He is the co-founder and leader of the CNPq Research Group and Reseacrh Lab WISER (Web, Internet and Intelligent Systems Research Group). His research interests include topics such as: Internet of Things, Web of Things, Web Services, Microservices, Fog/Cloud Computing, and Edge AI. In 20152016, Prazeres was a visiting scientist at DERI (Digital Enterprise Research Institute) at the National University of Ireland, Galway, working in the areas of Internet of Things and Semantic Web. In 20232024, he served as a visiting scientist at TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology), working on projects related to the Internet of Things and Edge AI. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
