Full time researcher and Head of the National Herbarium of Mexico (MEXU) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Mexico), working on anatomical plant evolution within a phylogenetic framework aiming to unravel the formation of complex anatomies in ontogeny and phylogeny, especially in lineages where habit transitions occurred, and more recently in anatomical diversity of galls . Bachelor, Msc and PhD in Sciences by the University of São Paulo (Brazil), with experience of seven months at the University of Bologna (Italy) between 2003-2004, one year as a Researcher at the University of Helsinki (Helsinki Yliopisto, Finland),between 2010-2011, two years of post-doc at the Smithsonian Institution, National Museum of Natural History (USA) between 2016-2018, and 6 months at UNESP Botucatu in 2021-2022.
