Samora Machel dos Santos Almeida

Education:Graduated in Chemical Engineering from the University of São Francisco (USF), technical training in Biochemistry and Chemistry from the Conselheiro Antônio Prado State Technical School (ETECAP). Currently, I am studying Software Engineering at Cruzeiro do Sul University (UNICSUL). Professional experience: Since 2012, I have been working as a Peptide Development Analyst at the Vita Nova Institute, having started my career as a laboratory technician. I have experience in the use of advanced analytical equipment, such as HPLC, UPLC, HPLC Prep., ICP-MS, LC-MS and Liberty Blue (Automatic Synthesizer). Throughout my career, I have gained experience in the area of Organic Synthesis of small molecules. Currently, I am developing peptide syntheses of approximately forty amino acids using microwave synthesis, an innovative technology today. I did internships in several areas, such as Genetics and Cytogenetics, where I acquired knowledge in techniques such as cell culture for human karyotype and identification of chromosomal abnormalities via light microscopy. In Molecular Biology, I worked as an intern, preparing analyses such as DNA extraction, electrophoresis and PCR. I also did an internship at the Andre Tosello Foundation, in the area of Microbiology, where I prepared strains of microorganisms for the food industry and performed analysis of identification and characterization of microorganisms. Finally, in Pathological Anatomy, I worked as a volunteer intern, preparing slides for microscopy using microtome. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
