I am a Bachelor on Biological Sciences (specialization on Ecology) at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1993) and Master (1998) and Doctor (2005) on Plant biology at Universidade Estadual de Campinas- UNICAMP. I developed my Master and Doctorate researches, from 1994 until 2005, at the Forest Sciences Department at Universidade de São Paulo- USP. Since 2005 I am a researcher of the Brazilian Agriculture Research Corporation EMBRAPA, focusing my work on Conservation Biology, specially on ecological restoration, agroecology, agroforestry systems, population genetics, trees, biological corridors, forest fragmentation and desfragmentation, peasant agriculture and genetic resources use and conservation.
