Detection of Zika RNA virus in Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes, Sao Paulo, Brazil

Abstract

We conducted mosquito-based Zika virus surveillance in Sa & SIM;o Paulo State, Brazil from 2015 to 2018. We found 81 pools positive for Aedes aegypti and one pool positive for Aedes albopictus. Infection rates were highest in the summer. Areas with human Zika cases also had clusters of Zika-positive mosquitoes. (AU)
