Abstract

In these proceedings, we present our recent results on the study of the process gamma d -> pi(0)eta d, where the existence of a dibaryon in the eta d invariant mass distribution has been recently reported. As we will show, many of the relevant aspects observed in the experiment, such as the shift of the eta d and pi d invariant mass distributions with respect to phase space, can be described with our model, where no dibaryon is formed. Instead, we consider the interaction of the gamma with the nucleons forming the deuteron to proceed through gamma N !-> Delta(1700) -> eta Delta(1232) -> eta pi(0) N, followed by the rescattering of the pi and eta with the other nucleon of the deuteron. Theoretical uncertainties related to different parameterizations of the deuteron wave function are investigated. (AU)
