Abstract

In recent years, hollow-core fiber technology has witnessed tremendous advancement, which consolidated this class of optical fibers as an enabling technology for future developments in photonics. In this paper, we develop on the progress in the hollow-core fiber field and highlight their outstanding properties and current state-of-the-art. Moreover, we provide an overview of the promising avenues for hollowcore fiber applications and discuss their bright future landscape. (AU)
