Abstract

This paper proposes an optimization of the variables involved in the continuous adsorption process of clavulanic acid (CA) on an ion exchange resin, using a complete factorial design. A continuous adsorption run was done to validate the factors that maximized the process yield. A comparison of the yield, concentration factor and purification factor values obtained in the simulated and experimental runs indicated a difference of less than 11%. (AU)
