Abstract

This paper addresses stability analysis of switched affine systems in discrete-time domain. The stability conditions are obtained by taking into account that the state trajectories are globally attracted to an ellipsoidal convergence region X containing the desired equilibrium point. Two globally stabilizing switching functions are provided such that the volume of the convergence region is minimized. They are based on different proposals for the set of attainable equilibrium points and are numerically and theoretically compared. The conditions are well adapted to treat sampled-data control systems with uncertain sampling periods. Numerical examples illustrate the validity of the results and are used for comparison with recent techniques available in the literature. (AU)
