Abstract

The 12-pulse diode rectifier is analyzed for application in More Electric Aircrafts. In this concept, the airplanes operate with a variable frequency (360 Hz to 800 Hz) and due to increased power demand, the systems tend to use high voltage dc buses (540 V). Two situations are analyzed: using L and LC input filters. The paper developed a mathematical model which provides means to study the input current and the output voltage. Simulations and experimental results validate the model. (AU)
