Abstract

Video on Demand (VoD) allows subscribers to choose videos and watch them remotely. Currently, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offers "pay as you go" type of service, which allows the increase of the computation capacity of a service provider. However, challenges include the distribution of content among geographically distributed data centers. In this paper, we propose heuristics to select a server to stream a requested video as well as where to dynamically allocate the server. (AU)
