Abstract

This work stressed the multistep character of the alcohol electro-oxidation reactions. The concomitant dependency of the mechanistic aspects and the influence of the platinum single-crystalline surface structures, with and without defects, in methanol, ethanol, and glycerol electro-oxidation reactions were emphasized. Despite the different surface crystalline structures, the active site depends on the specific surface configurations. (AU)
