Abstract

In this work, Broadband Dielectric Spectroscopy (BDS) techniqueis applied to investigate ((2-(3-methylimidazolyl-1-yl)-ethoxy)-carboyl)-benzoic-phthalic acid bromide (MC1) and 2-(3-methylimidazolyl-1-yl)-ethoxy-4-oxobutanoic acid bromide (MC2) ionic liquids. An impedance analyzer is used with frequencies ranging from 100mHz to 10MHz. The real and imaginary parts of the complexpermittivity, epsilon*(omega), and of the complex conductivity, sigma*(omega), of pure ionic liquids MC1 and MC2 and also aqueous solutions at 10% v/v, 50% v/v and 70% v/v as a function of temperature are discussed.
