Abstract

Leptus Latreille is the most diverse genus of Erythraeidae Robineau-Desvoidy, with 235 species worldwide distributed. In this study, we identified the species Leptus (Leptus) adaminae parasitizing the stingless bee in the state of Santa Catarina, southern Brazil. This is the first host-association as well as the first record for this Brazilian state to this mite species. Also, we have provided a worldwide list of Leptus spp. parasitizing hymenopteran species.
