FAPESP Genomics has qualified researchers and created the necessary infrastructure for the sequencing and analysis of human genetic material as well as of organisms for scientific interest and relevance in public health, in the following projects: The Sugar Cane EST Project (SUCEST), Functional Genome, Bovine Functional Genome, The Human Cancer Genome Project, The Schistosoma Project, The Xanthomonas Project, The Xylella Project and Agronomical and Environmental Genomes - AEG. These projects were developed under the responsibility of a Principal Investigator, associated with higher education or research institutions in the State of São Paulo. The selection was through a peer-reviewing system.
We propose that Pasteur Institute and Brazilian teams join their efforts to participate in the International Aedes Genome Sequencing Project initiated by D Severson. The following strategy is proposed: Construction of cDNA libraries with an emphasis on enriching for full-length clones. We will focus on 1) genes expressed specifically in the midgut of female adult mosquitoes and that wou...
The main objective of this project is to compare gene expression profiling of colorectal cancer cells with those of adjacent nonturnorous mucosa utilizing microarray method. Specifically we want: 1. To detect differences between neoplastic cells, adenomatous polyps and adjacent nontumorous cells regarding gene expression profiles (mutational or expression levels status); 2. To correlate...
