The FAPESP Program for Applied Research Centers uses the successful model of the RIDC Special Program (Research, Innovation and Diffusion Centers) and associates it with the University-Industry Cooperative Research (PITE), in which there is a cofinancing partner company, strongly motivated to participate in the definition of the focal themes to be investigated; to actively participate in the research projects; and to use the results obtained with the center. The projects are selected through publicly announced calls by FAPESP in partnership with the partner companies.
