There is a great demand for innovative materials with personalized properties, the challenge is to be capable to find them. At present, the goal of searching "nanomaterials by design" is a primary research field for obtaining new nanomaterials with certain physical-chemical properties that allow their technological applications. The focus of the present project is a theoretical-experimental study of synthesis, formation and growth of bimetallic nanolloys (AL) provoked by electron and laser irradiation using the transmission electron microscopy or femtosecond laser, respectively. The precursor materials are: ±Ag2WO4, NaBiO3, and InP for obtaining AL of Ag-Bi, Ag-In and Bi-In. The computational developments in combination with experimental techniques will be the basis for the rational design of these materials with properties of technological interest such as: catalysts, photocatalysts or bactericides. The new computational developments will allow the understanding, at the atomic scale, of the properties and their applications. The NL of Ag-Bi, Ag-In and Bi-In are formed when the precursors are exposed to electron and or laser irradiation. Understand the underlying mechanisms, unravel the geometry, morphology, and electronic structure of these NAs, as well as their chemical and physical properties, and the prediction of their structutal and electronic characteristics are key to their rational design of the NLs for future applications. This project is situated on the frontier of knowledge in a field of research where Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science and Nanotechnology converge and has a high international projection. To this request it also contemplates support to researchers, from IC, master, Ph. D. students and post-doc. The objectives of this proposal are to be realized as can be demonstrated by the visitor's Curriculum Vitae, which will be integrated due to their experience of collaboration and project accomplishments. This international proposal is motivated by the need to find new strategies and techniques to visualize, characterize and develop new materials with important technological applications in different scales, micro and nano.
