Abstract

The Multiusers Central Laboratory(LACEM) of the School of Agricultural Sciences (FCA), hosted in the UNESP campus of Botucatu is a complex structure of shared use, with structural conditions for the integration of research teams from different departments and courses from FCA, other campi from UNESP and, eventually, third-party services in the areas of organic analytical chemistry, inorganic analytical chemistry and molecular biology. Several multiuser equipments have already been purchased with resources from founding agencies such as FAPESP, FINEP and CNPq. The improvement of LACEM will host an advanced biosafety level 2 (BSL-2) laboratory with shared policy. This laboratory will host a facility with state-of-art scientific instruments, as well as research projects with funding already contracted for the next three years. The new facilities will be made available to the FCA community and will host new cutting-edge technologies in molecular and cellular biology, genetic embryo manipulation, and containment chambers for GMO insects and mosquito vectors infection with arboviruses. In relationship to research in the agronomic areas, the refurbishment of plot harvest machine is of extreme importance for field experiments carried out at FCA, especially nowadays with the progressive reduction of employees in this area. The acquisition of new agricultural waste disposer will allow the maintenance of research on the rotation of crops such as soy, bean, maize, black oat and no-tillage crops since the previous equipment is old, currently spoiled and condemned due to intensive tear and wear.
