Abstract
Objective: to understand the meanings and repercussions of situations of violence on the elderly population, considering health, legal and social assistance, aiming at the establishment of intersectoral strategies. Methods: The study will be conducted in a medium-sized municipality in the interior of the state of São Paulo, with approximately 220,000 inhabitants. Qualitative and quantitative methodological approaches will be used based on the data collection of occurrences registered at the police station, the understanding and actions of professionals in the family health strategy and the Specialized Reference Center for Social Assistance (CREAS), as well as on life and health conditions of these elderly people. Qualitative data will be obtained through interviews and a focus group. The collection of quantitative data will be performed by the application of the standardized and tested questionnaire, to obtain demographic and health information. The analysis of the qualitative data will be carried out in the perspective of dialectical hermeneutics, where the speech of the social actors is situated in its context is better understood. Statistical analysis of the quantitative data will include the association between the relationship of the victim to the offender and the witness in the complete sample and according to sex using Pearson's Chi-square test. The same statistical test will be used to test the association between the type of violence with gender, age group, marital status, schooling, the region where the crime occurred, and the unfolding of the crime. Statistical significance will be considered in the results that reached P <0.05. The analyzes will be performed in the statistical program SPSS for Windows, version 23.0.Expected results: it is expected to obtain data on violence against the elderly population in the country, aiming at the definition and implementation of actions in the intersectoral logic to sensitize the general population in facing violence against the elderly people. In addition, the project will also contribute to the training of masters, Phd students and students of multiprofessional residence in collective health. (AU)
