Abstract

In 2016, agribusiness alone accounted for 23% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Brazil. The development of mechanisms and tools to increase the profit of the different agents of the sector can contribute to further increase this representation. The distribution chain of agricultural products, whose current model date of the 1970s, still has great scope for modernization through the use of more efficient logistics and communication technologies. To achieve this modernization, some challenges need to be overcome: (1) understand the existing agents and pricing structures; (2) develop an environment that approximates the supply and demand (3) reinsert production agents in the market, excluded from the current model. Overcoming these challenges is an opportunity for the proposed project, which aims to define the distribution chain of vegetable farming in the State of São Paulo; understand their current logistics for communication and pricing and propose a new model, through an intelligence and commercial matchmaking platform, which allows to increase the income of farmers co-ops and the profit of Foodservice companies. The experience of Go! Horti in pre-operation indicates that there is scope to offer better service in the delivery of vegetables, with more competitive prices for the commercial consumer who buys in the wholesale and still increase the income of the farmers. This innovation will strengthen different agents, both from the interior and from the state capital. (AU)
