Abstract

The aim of this project is to evaluate the biomechanical behavior of implant - supported single unit prostheses made by different materials and techniques, varying the connection type (External Hexagon [HE] and Cone Morse [CM]) and the retention system (screwed and cemented). For better understanding, this project was divided in 3 separated studies that will be submitted for later publication of the results found. For study 1, seventy specimens will be made of metal (CoCr), divided into: G1) UCLA with metal strap (CoCr); G2) UCLA calcinable; G3) Milling coping (intraoral scanning); G4) Milling coping (Extraoral scanning); G5) TiBase + Coping milling (intraoral scanning); G6) TiBase + Coping milling (Extraoral scanning); G7) Coping milling in wax (CAD-CAM) + casting in CoCr. The study 2, eighty specimens will be made of metal (CoCr) and divided into: G1) UCLA with metal strap (CoCr) on HE (screwed); G2) UCLA with metal strap (CoCr) on HE (cemented); G3) UCLA with tape (CoCr) on CM (screwed); G4) UCLA with tape (CoCr) on CM (cemented); G5) One Wax on HE (cemented); G6) Esteticone on HE (screwed); G7) Universal abutment on CM (cemented); G8) Universal abutment on CM (screwed). The study 3, will consist of fifty specimes, divided into: G1) Metaloceramics; G2) Coping milled with lithium silicate reinforced by zirconium dioxide and feldspathic ceramics; G3) coping milled in zirconia and feldspathic ceramics; G4) Monolithic lithium silicate reinforced by zirconium dioxide; G5) Monolithic zirconia. All specimens will be submitted to mechanical cycling. The torque and marginal and internal adaptation will be measured before and after the mechanical cycling. In the study 2, a tensile strength test will be performed for the cemented copings to be uncemented, and in the study 3, a fracture strength test and a fractographic analysis will be performed. The data of the measurements for each type of analysis will be submitted to SigmaPlot (SigmaPlot, San Jose, CA, USA) and analyzed in relation to the normal distribution, and later the data will be submitted to more pertinent statistical analysis according to the results.
