Abstract

The aim of this proposal is research new materials for proton solid oxide fuel cell. Initially, BaCe0,4Zr0,4Y0,1Gd0,1O3-d ceramics will be prepared by the polymeric precursor method. Composites of this ceramic, with addition of metals and oxides, will be prepared by mechanical mixing. These materials will be studied by thermogravimetric, differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy with dispersive energy X-ray spectroscopy and impedance spectroscopy. The expected results are: students (technical, undergraduate and graduate levels) training, development of new ceramic compositions for use in electrochemical devices operates at high temperature and contributions to the knowledge of the related phenomena.
