Influence of the geometry and thickness of concrete blocks using self-compacting concrete

Abstract

This work aims to evaluate the influence of the geometry and thickness of the concrete blocks, through the use and application of self-compacting concrete for the fabrication of structural masonry blocks. Six different concrete blocks with three different geometries and thicknesses will be manufactured using 1: 5 mix. The blocks will be tested for axial compressive strength at 7 and 28 days and water absorption, and a correlation will be made between the geometries and the different wall thicknesses studied for each geometry. Prisms will be made using a mixed mortar mixture for the laying. These will be tested for axial compression strength using LVDTs and Strain-Gages in order to check displacements and deformations, analyze rupture forms and tensions. In relation to the mixed mortar used for the laying, tests of consistency index and resistance to axial compression at 28 days will be performed (AU)
