Abstract

The FMVZ building infrastructure where laboratories are located is very old and has been naturally worn down. Some of the labs present water infiltration points, inappropriate roof with broken plaques, windows consumed by rust, allowing constant vibrations that might interfere on the working of precision devices. Due to an old electric network, problems with energy breakdown happen constantly, especially at the Lageado campus. Therefore, the FMVZ Congregation approved the application of the Institutional Technical Reserve to remodel and adapt three laboratories (Multiuser Laboratory for Cell Cultivation, Molecular Laboratory of Diagnosis in Bacteriology, Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Cellular Therapy); remodel two paddocks of the animal house of the Veterinary Hospital for keeping stallions used in research in equine reproduction biotechniques; repair essential equipment to develop projects involving protein and hormone measurements and acquisition and installation of an energy generator, aiming at the maintenance of electric energy in case of breakdown, to keep the labs of the black building and neighbor facilities of the Lageado campus, such as: Bromatology Lab, Biotechnology Lab, Meat, Milk, Eggs and Sheep Wool Quality Lab, Morphology and Image Analysis Lab, Computer Lab and also the rooms where freezers are located, the thesis defense room and the videoconference room. The application of the financial resources in the items listed above will provide better laboratory conditions for full working, space reconfiguration, allowing the installation of new equipment that will contribute to research activities and cause impact the scientific production of the FMVZ/UNESP Botucatu.
