Abstract

The visit of prof. Michael Löwy to Unicamp is linked to the project "Brazilian Cases of the Culture Cold War", by Prof. Marcelo Ridenti. The participation of Prof. Löwy is also connected with projects of other colleagues, such as Fabio Marcaro Querido. Löwy is expected to collaborate on discussions of five PhD projects in progress, advised by Ridenti, as well as to comment the research of postdoctoral fellows. Three of the students have grants from Fapesp. He will also take part of other activities involving professors and students from the Graduate Program in Sociology, IFCH/Unicamp whose investigations are related to Lowy's research on "Intellectuals, culture and politics". The activities include involvement in actions of investigative character, participation in research seminars and discussions with colleagues and graduate students, planned for the months of October and November 2019. They will be complemented by events open to a wider audience, particularly professors and students at IFCH/Unicamp. (AU)
