Abstract

First day: Where Do We Stand in the Energy Transformation? Launch of REN21's Renewables 2019 Global Status Report. Participants will be from REN 21, Brazilian Federal Government, the State of Sao Paulo and Sao Paulo Municipality, from relevant universities and renewable energy associations. From USP, participants will include representatives from RCGI/USP, "USP Cidades", from USP Superintendence of Environmental Management. Lecturers and researchers on renewable energy from other universities such as UNICAMP, UNESP and UFRJ will be invited. The event will also be open to lecturers, researchers and students from universities and civil society.Secont Day: Regarding gender issues, there will be the session on Harnessing the Power: Engaging women to drive the energy transformation. Launch of GWNET in LAC. The launch will be chaired by GWNET's President, Ambassador Irene Giner-Reichl, currently Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil and Suriname,and the Executive Director of GWNET, Christine Lins.
