One of the main challenges in the field of energy storage is the development of materials that can store hydrogen at ambient temperature. The objective of this project is to evaluate critically the alternative of processing Mg or Ti-based composites by severe plastic deformation, by high-pressure torsion (HPT) to develop new functional materials with superior properties for hydrogen storage. To achieve such objective we will count with the expertise of the proponent group in the research of hydrogen storage materials with the long-term experience on high-pressure torsion processing of the visiting scientist.
