Abstract

The present proposal aims to provide the Laboratory of Foundry and Thixoforming of the School of Mechanical Engineering / Unicamp of a cold chamber injection die casting machine for aluminium alloys, which will provide the manufacturing of cast, rheocast or thixoformed parts. The main objective is to accelerate the development, processing and mechanical and microstructural characterization of Al-Si-(Zn-Cu-Mg) alloys for specific use in Rheocasting and Thixoforming. Currently, the laboratory has infrastructure for the development of such materials but does not have proper equipment for processing. This equipment will support several doctoral thesis and master's dissertations in addition to publications. It seeks to provide the country with the complete infrastructure for processing of alloys in the semisolid state field research. (AU)
