Abstract

From the subject / object articulations, this theoretical-practical research approaches the "marginal systems of objects" (BAUDRILLARD, 2002), in the context of artistic production and its conflicts with the functionalities of objects projected for daily life and validated collectively. In this sense, it is important to understand the orders of use and symbolic constructions of the same from an interdisciplinary perspective between design, material culture and arts, as a critical reflection on the materialisation of pre-existing codes to potentiate and constitute other discourses that escape the domain and power relations through instrumentalization. Thus, from some artists and designers, the sensorial dimensions of objects are contextualised, specifically regarding the sense of smell, and their technical processes, understanding that the "formality of practices" (CERTEAU, 2008) to make, the marginal appropriation, the spatiotemporal experience for the constitution of the place (TUAN, 1977). It is understood, therefore, research as a state of construction in constant transformation, in its interrelations between experimentation / intervention / invention, and it assumes the potential character of the exploratory studies of perception from a processual, relational and changeable method.
