Abstract

The aim of this proposal is to develop an international research collaboration in the area of reproductive biotechnologies. A series of studies investigating the use novel techniques to diagnosis early pregnancy in cattle is the main research goal that will be explored within this proposed collaboration. The exchange activities will allow the interaction between the groups from University of São Paulo and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, thus providing an opportunity to enhance the results from current projects and develop the foundation to elaborate on novel and transformative research for the future. The researchers involved in this proposal are highly collaborative, experts in their field and diverse in their approaches to science. Dr. Pugliesi has two running grants (FAPESP 2015/10606-9; CNPq 427715/2018-0) in this area and Dr. Lima has a grant proposal under evaluation by the AABP foundation. Thus, the expected results of this proposal will be in developing an international collaboration focused on the development of the knowledge related to accuracy, feasibility and cost-effectiveness of two novel techniques for early pregnancy diagnosis in dairy herds. The proposal will provide the foundation for future grant proposal, collaborations, student/scholar exchange and high impact science. (AU)
