Abstract

In the dentistry sector, the segment of implantology is one of the ones that has grown more accentuated in recent years. Improvements added to people's quality of life in modern times have enabled greater access to dental treatments that were once inaccessible to the majority of the population. This is also rooted in the technological increments incorporated by companies that produce equipment, tools, tools and tools that have been able to achieve scale gains that have made their products and / or processes more suitable for acquisition by a wider range of our society. The development of a laser heat treatment process for application in small martensitic stainless steel parts attends the appeals inherent to the natural process of technological development that has been observed in the dental-medical-hospital sector where the existing technology and the practical application have found a vast and fertile field, conducive to a development of this nature. It is proposed in this project to study the influence of the process parameters used in the laser equipment employing the heat treatment for the martensitic stainless steel (according to ASTM F899). To compare the mechanical properties and to evaluate the microstructure of standard samples made from test specimens (drill blanks). The development of the present project must be carried out in several steps mentioned in the following summary form: manufacture of the blanks of strawberry (test bodies), characterization of these materials before the heat treatment, obtaining blanks of strawberries (Vacuum tempering), analysis of the physical and chemical propertie of the cutter blanks after conventional heat treatment, consolidation of samples by laser treatment in different manufacturing parameters, evaluation of mechanical and microstructural properties of samples treated by laser. The purpose of the proposal is to optimize the laser heat treatment process in order to acquire superior properties and to obtain greater manufacturing efficiency in relation to the vacuum heat treatment. Therefore, samples that are consolidated under these conditions, i.e. have better properties, should be fabricated for further study of validation and complying with the normative requirements of surgical and medical instruments. The expected results of this project count on the optimization of the heat treatment process using the laser process, which can enable greater efficiency and development of an incipient technology in the national market.
