Abstract

Our Library is a vital space for students of the Postgraduate Program of Doctoral in Environment and Society of Nepam (Note 6 Capes), of the postgraduate programs of the thematic ones related to the Environment and Society of Unicamp and of other institutions, for Nepam researchers and for the academic community. With a specialized collection, the heart of the Library of the NEPAM began in 1982, at that time it was known as Documentation Center, and the collection was on a steel shelf in the only existing room. As of 1987, this Documentation Center began to form a new institution, with more open intentions and a performance more linked to the researches at the University. At that time, the NEPAM Library was born, which until 2010 was restricted to the internal community of NEPAM (researchers and students of doctorate Environment & Society). After many negotiations and defense of the library's collection, in 2011 a Librarian of the Library System of the UNICAMP (SBU) was appointed, who worked with a librarian trainee and SAE (Student Support Service) interns to insert the entire collection Sophia Software allowing consultation and home loan by the academic community. From 2014, the Library of NEPAM became part of the Library System of Unicamp, having all its collection cataloged and made available for loans and consultation, starting to offer the service of Loan between libraries and to have a full-time librarian.
