Development of an intelligent automatic feeder capable of evaluating the fish feeding frenzy

Abstract

There is great concern in aquaculture production about water quality and feed leftovers in the water. The difficulty of fish handlers' interaction with animals is a limiting factor for precision in this activity. The development of new technologies to overcome the challenges of intensified production is important to make Brazilian aquaculture more competitive. This present propose intends to develop an automatic feeder capable of interpreted the fish feeding frenzy and control the amount of feed offered to fishes, so there would not be feed leftovers in the water and the feeding frequency increases. It is expected a cost reduction, loses mitigation, and improvement of production welfare. (AU)
