Abstract

The scientific goal of this project is to reveal the fundamental crystallographic and superconducting properties of an important element for the first time. To realize the goals set forth herein, Dr. Neumeier will collaborate with three experts. The skill sets and intellectual interests of Dr. Neumeier and his three collaborators are uniquely suited to the proposed research, and it is unlikely that anyone else will pursue this project. Adequate resources exist at the partner institutions and MSU to realize the project goals in the allotted time. The results of this project will be promptly published in high-profile scientific journals with international audiences, disseminated through presentations at international or national conferences, and shared with local audiences in Brazil and at Montana State Unversity (MSU).
