Abstract

In the present project we will use the formulationof the "Quantum Field Theory in the Light-Front (LFQFT)";to study the structure of mesons, baryons and light nuclei from their fundamental constituents, i.e, in terms of their degrees of freedom of quarks and gluons from Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). The fact of the choice in use of the formulationof the quantum theory in the Light-Front,is that with this formulation we have certain advantageson the usual formulation of the quantum covariant theory at equal times, which will be discussed in this project. However, in the light-front formalism,we have certain problems related to the loss of some symmetries, among these is the loss of rotational symmetry when spaceFock is truncated. The loss of the rotational invariance will bedescription of composite particles of spin-0,which are the pseudoscalar mesons, such asthe pion and the kaon. In the case of spin-1, we havemesons rho, kaon with S = 1, as well as the deuteron. An important part of this project will be the involvement of graduate and undergraduate students, master's and doctorate, in addition to other researchers at the postdoctoral level, researchers,  as well as making requests from visiting researchers.
