Abstract

BBEST is an international conference scheduled to take place every three years to discuss the advances and state-of-the-art research in the field of bioenergy. The implementation of BBEST 2020 is a development of the actions of the BIOEN / FAPESP Program. Brazil, as one of the world leaders in renewable energies from biomass, hosts this event. The Conference will have as its theme "Bioenergy Innovation", subdivided into five main themes: 1. Biomass, agronomy, breeding, biotechnological aspects of energy plants; 2. Biofuel Technologies, including biomass process engineering and biofuels production; 3. Alcohol chemistry, Sugar Chemistry, Oil Chemistry, Biorefineries, Bio-based chemicals and Biomaterials; 4. Engines and other conversion devices including aviation applications; and 5. Sustainability and Impacts. The presentations will be organized in round tables and thematic sessions, with the participation of outstanding names in bioeconomy. (AU)
