Abstract

The concept of sustainability is fundamental to question the economic development model that has established itself globally, and that has determined severe consequences, among them the intensive processes of industrialisation and urbanisation, environmental degradation, and impairment of the population physical and mental health, violence and social conflicts. The Agenda for Sustainable Development 2030 presents 17 important objectives, with particular emphasis on SDG 5, which deals specifically with Gender Equality and the importance of preventing and combating violence, especially against women and children. In this sense, we try to analyse violence in the context of the Sustainability Objectives (SDGs), for a set of 10 municipalities located along the Export Corridor D. Pedro I - Rod. Dos Tamoios, located in São Paulo, Brazil and compare with São Paulo state average, for the period from 2009 to 2018. Data collection for this analysis will be carried out from the Violence and Accident Surveillance System (VIVA), created by the Brazilian Ministry of Health (MS) in 2006. Our objective with this project is to present a scientific literature review on the global parameters of domestic and sexual violence against women and children, an analysis of the methodology used in Brazil to collect information, its effectiveness and limits and collect, and analyse data for 10 municipalities located along the Export Corridor D. Pedro I - Rod. dos Tamoios. Lastly, present SDG 5 contribution strategies to improve Gender Equality and Human Rights perspectives in the study region. (AU)
