Abstract

The present research proposal has the objective of analyzing the results of the Lúcio Rangel Project materialized in the monographs awarded, edited and published by Funarte, among the three projects of preservation of the memory of Brazilian popular music (Lúcio Rangel, Almirante, Ayrton Barbosa) implemented by Hermínio Bello de Carvalho in his management at FUNARTE, an organ created by the cultural policy of the military dictatorship, and to relate them to the initiatives of groups and cultural movements linked to the musical field that, during the twentieth century, from different perspectives, participated in the invention and consolidation of a cultural tradition based on the national-popular.
