Abstract

As in others years, research projects carried out at the Institute of Psychiatry of the Hospital das Clínicas of FMUSP (IPq-HCFMUSP) with support by FAPESP have generated institutional technical reserve funds (RTI), whose efforts are discussed among our leaderships researchers every year to ensure investments in infrastructure of strategic relevance for the continuity of our research.This project proposes the use of the RTI budget available on two fronts: (a) continuity of the research IT infrastructure upgrade project IPq-HCFMUSP, involving: replacement / addition of new distribution switches, completion of renovation and organization of building racks, implementation of a new switch core for continuity of external communication between IPq-HCFMUSP and Specialized Core data center HCFMUSP Information Technology (NETI), adding disks and memories to the IPq-HCFMUSP cluster (hyperconvergence solution implemented last year) and storage system acquisition responsible for receiving replication of information stored in hyperconvergence; and (b) modernization and reform of the clinical research sector in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), a treatment modality used in a few national centers and very effective in several mental disorders, being strategically evaluated as a priority area for the development of impact research by various research groups.From the IT infrastructure standpoint, the project addresses fundamental needs and is once again harmoniously planned with the overall upgrade of the IT research infrastructure that has been taking place in the FMUSP-HC System as a whole. From the point of view of clinical research in ECT, several research groups of this institution will benefit from this reform, notably those involved in research on biomarkers and mental disorders in which ECT is used, such as mood disorders, schizophrenia, OCD, as well as special populations such as adolescents, pregnant women and the elderly.
