Abstract
This book presents a translation into the Portuguese language of the epic poem Argonautica of Apollonius Rhodius, written in the third century BC, during Hellenistic period. The translation is accompanied by a study divided into two parts: an introduction to the context in which this poem was composed and its literary influences and a discussion about the characterization of Jason as a hero throughout the poem.
