Abstract
The use of fossil fuels for energy generation has been contributing to global warming. Ambiental concerns increased the demand for new clean energy generation technologies. Among several possibilities, the solar light energy conversion Technologies are the most interesting ones due to the use of a clean and unfinishable primary source and several approaches are possible, such as the solar energy conversion into electricity or in chemical. In both cases, electron transfer and recombination processes have a direct impact on the efficiency of the devices, thus it is fundamental to comprehend these processes. In this research proposal, the investigation of electron transfer processes involved in dye-sensitized solar cells, perovskite solar cells, and CO2 photoreduction processes are investigated. In all cases, the interfacial electron recombination processes are fundamental to be understood and it will try to establish a relationship of them to the chemical structures proposed, which will be systematically changed. At last, this proposal aims that this information is useful in the design of new compounds to be developed to increase the efficiency and durability of these devices. (AU)
